Thailand Visa Entry Requirements
All foreigners entering the Kingdom of Thailand require a valid passport along with their passport having at least 6 months still remaining before the expiration date and at least one blank visa page available for the duration of their stay.
The Infamous Thailand Visa Run
The infamous visa run might sound exciting and even a bit sinister but in actuality it simply entails you leaving the Kingdom of Thailand and re-entering again passing through Immigration at your choice of borders. Since Thailand is very geographically friendly to other countries, border runs to Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Malaysia can easily be completed by land and usually in one day or so. A short and inexpensive plane trip also allows for Singapore and Vietnam to be within the realm of visa run possibilities. You can actually go any place just so long as you have been stamped out of Thailand before your allowed time has expired.
If you decide to take part in one of the increasing number of Bhutan tours on offer, you are setting yourself up for a spectacular holiday in one of the world’s most remarkable countries. For centuries, Bhutan was more or less isolated from the world as it lay almost undisturbed between China and India.
As any reputable Bhutan tour operator will tell you, you can only enter and exit the country via Druk Air. Beware companies that offer ‘discounts’ or ‘student rates’ because there is no such thing! According to Druk Air, if the air fare rate is increased after you have been issued with the ticket(s), the company is obliged to collect the difference in cost when you check in.
